STUDENT PARTICIPATION PROGRAM

Creating brighter futures for abandoned children in Malawi through the philanthropy of advantaged youth.

Why we exist

One of the chief reasons that MySchoolWorx came into existence was to fund several mission objectives.  Our work in Malawi has been in place for years and remains our most urgent priority.

Malawi children simply lack the most basic needs to survive - things we too often take for granted: Food, clean water, clothes, and basic education.

This is vital work the MySchoolWorx team has hoped to expand one day to provide physical and spiritual needs for children all over the world.  While the issues of borders and immigration are before us daily, in God's economy He recognizes no spiritual borders. John 3:16 is clearly God's view of the world when Jesus states, "For God so loved the world that He gave...."

Timothy Green, Sr., Founder and MySchoolWorx CEO

"The mission is to affect every person we can reach

to point them to heaven."

We’ve asked ourselves this question, "How will heaven be different because we lived?" We hope that you might ask yourself the same question and join the MySchoolWorx team to invest in what is eternally important.

So, our MySchoolWorx mission is to affect every person that we can reach to join us make heaven different because we lived. The truth is that most of us will not know all of those that will be reached but one day, we will get to know all of them one by one. God's accounting books are perfect, and we believe there will be some huge introductions to children and adults whose lives were changed because of what all of us were able to give. Now, that gives heaven a different meaning for me. With the time we are granted on earth, we have made some serious pledges to God about how we use our revenues.

You can help! We're hoping that heaven will be an even greater experience for each of you because you gave.

The Mission: Malawi

The Republic of Malawi is located in the sub-Sahara region of the African continent.  It is one of the poorest countries in Africa.

  • 1,000,0000 of Malawi children are orphans
  • 53% of Malwai children are under the age of 16
  • Only 63% of Malawi children attend school
  • Only 60% can read or write
  • The average life expectancy in Malwai is less than 50 years

The Hope For A Life Foundation

Since its inception, MySchoolWorx has supported the Hope for a Life Foundation for Children, a non-profit organization providing critical funds to children in desperate need - and creating futures of promise for thousands of marginalized children in the US and abroad.

Hope for a Life is already in Malawi. It has initiated the giving and supporting of life-sustaining gifts of food and medicine and has been equipping volunteers to help provide children with proper education. Vital infrastructure needs have also been built in these same villages in the Southern and Northern regions of Malawi. Learn more at HopeForALife.org.

MySchoolWorx4Orphans Student Participation Program

Student Participation Program

Your Students, Being Part of Something Bigger Than Self:

The MySchoolWorx4Orphans Student Participation Program engages advantaged youth in K-12 classrooms across the US  to help build a better future for the children of Malawi.

Why Engage Your K-12 Students?

The Need is Great: The tragedy of children orphaned by poverty, famine, AIDS, and war throughout our world is growing by staggering proportions.

1

Teaching Philanthropy:  In a society increasingly focused on self, teaching philanthropy is one of the biggest gifts we can give our kids. Your students are the world's future!

2

Students Want to Help:  Experiences of our MySchoolWorx team with today's youth have shown us that kids want to help. We just need to show them how.

3

"When kids learn how to give,

they never "un-learn" it. It stays with them forever.

Your classroom of students can change the world."

Tim Green Sr.

Your students can make a difference.

Community Service Credits for HS Students

Many states now require high school students to volunteer for social or community service activities that serve to improve the lives of others.

While the number may vary from state to state, generally a certain amount of hours are required to receive their high school diploma.

Opportunities to Give:

Buy a brick / build the orphanage

A little goes a long way in Malawi.

We are in great need of sound physical structures for housing the children and to prevent exposing children to extreme heat and other harsh weather.  Those who are fortunate to live in a makeshift hut are exposed to heavy rains and heat, and have no parent or adult looking after them. These kids need a home.

Each brick is just 50 cents. 18,000 bricks will build a dormitory - and we need two in the village of Kutsukanye.

  • 18,000 Bricks will build a dormitory.
  • $9,000 builds an entire building
  • We're in immediate need of 2 dormitories.

“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”

OBJECTIVE:  2 Dormitories.

Help provide clean water

A little goes a long way in Malawi.

$40 a foot to drill & build a well, and 150 feet to complete one well...

Malawi is among the worst affected by the long-running drought in South Africa, making water of any kind scarce. Though many women and children spend hours of their day walking to collect it, much of it is not sanitary. We need your help building resources for clean running water. Your gifts will help provide water for:

  • Drinking and cooking
  • Bathing and proper hygiene
  • Sanitation services

"When I was thirsty, you gave me something to drink."

Matthew 25:35

Beds for the orphanage dormitories

A little goes a long way in Malawi.

Your gift of $200 will build a bunk bed for two children

A comfortable bed is essential to a good night's sleep, good health, and a refreshed mind for learning. It is somehting we take for granted. Most children in Malwi sleep on the ground or floor. Our team on the gound is building these beds but we need lumber and materials, which are hard to come by.

  • $200 provides a bed for 2 students
  • $400 provides beds for 4 students
  • $600 provides beds for 6 students

“Mercy to the needy is a loan unto God,

and God pays back those loans in full."

Help build a student desk for just $80

A little goes a long way in Malawi.

$80 for a desk means no more learning on the floor.

We're in need of desks for our classrooms right now to provide structured learning. Desks are built on-site (as shown in this photo) and help keep students focused and on task during learning.

Our immediate need is for 50 desks. You can help us reach our goal.

  • $80 buys materials and labor to build one desk with desktop, seating and storage

“Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord."

$800 provides school supplies for 20 kids

A little goes a long way in Malawi.

Your gift of $800 will provide supplies for 20 kids.

Malawi students are in great need of the simplest supplies; paper, pencils, and books.  Your gifts will go a long way to helping children achieve an education by giving them the most basic tools to learn.

  • Just $800 provides School Supplies for 20 students for an entire school year!

“Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it."

PROVERBS 22:6

Feed a child

A little goes a long way in Malawi.

$520 will feed an entire classroom (approx 20 children) for a month!

1.4 million children in Malawi suffer from stunted growth because they are chronically under-nourished. Stunted growth in the children of Malawi results in slower brain development. Stunted children cannot perform to their full potential and are more likely to drop out of school.

Feeding a child costs just pennies a day. Your gifts will not only provide nourishment and good health, they will greatly improve their chances for a successful education and a better future.

“Learn to do good; bring justice to the fatherless..."

ISAIAH:17

  • $315 Feeds 1 Child for an Entire Year
  • $520 Feeds 20 Children for 1 Month

Provide basic teaching supplies

A little goes a long way in Malawi.

Just $300 Provides a Chalkboard and Teacher Supplies for 1 Classroom

It doesn't take much to make a big difference. Help us provide teachers with critical supplies.

  • Just $300 provides a chalkboard and teacher Supplies for an entire school year!

“...But the advantage of knowledge is this: Wisdom preserves those who have it."

ECCLESIASTES 7:12

Fund  a  teacher's salary for a month

A little goes a long way in Malawi.

$100 Pays a Full Month Teacher's Salary in Malawi

Malawi faces a critical shortage of qualified teachers in primary schools with the qualified-teacher ratio hovering at 1:75, far below international standards.

Your gift of just $100 will enable us fund the salary of a qualified teacher for an entire month.  Help us bring education to the children of Malawi.

  • Pay a Teacher's Salary for an entire month for just $100.

“Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord."

School uniforms for 20 children

A little goes a long way in Malawi.

Your gift of $400 will provide uniforms for 20 kids.

In Malawi, school uniforms do more than clothe students; they instill dignity and a sense of worth, allowing the children to focus on learning. For most, their uniform will be the only item of new clothing they've ever known.

  • $20 provides uniforms for 1 student
  • $400 provides uniforms for 20 students
  • $1200 provides uniforms for 60 students
